BRAVE VOICES- Speak Up To Protect Children

At BRAVE VOICES we learn to SPEAK UP, LISTEN, and HONOR those that dare to break the cycle. MISSION Brave Voices works to recover the voices of child sexual abuse survivors and prevent child sexual abuse by dismantling silence through advocacy, education, and learning. BRAVE VOICES empowers, enables and provides a platform for childhood sexual abuse survivors to speak up, to break their cycle of silence by sharing and preserving their experiences through audio recordings, on Archive Storycorps and also in perpetuity at the Library Of Congress. We at Brave Voices believe that by shedding light, getting curious, being brave enough to speak, our COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS, will be role modeled for each adult in our society to gain confidence, a feeling of safety and security to speak up, loud and clear, in order to defend and protect future generations of innocent children from being harmed. This is our contribution to breaking the cycle of childhood sexual abuse - by breaking our cycle of silence. Together, in connection, collaboration and co-creation, by our shared talk, our Courageous Conversations, we will contribute to the ease and comfort we as a society will begin to feel about the subject of CSA. We listen to each persons expereince with empathy, understanding and respect, and, an ear for what might have gone wrong, in order for this young human being to have been harmed?........ "How could the harm have been prevented?" "What support would this child have needed in order to feel comfortable telling someone about the harm they experienced?" We listen to learn from each others experience; "How did this person move through the pain and trauma in order to have a full and complete life?" "How did this person come to forgive the one that caused the harm?" "How did the person recover from the impacts, physically in their body, emotionally & spiritually? “How does this person continue to move forward in life when “triggered”? “Whats stopping this person from creating the life they long for” Sooo many questions…. Our goal is to make our world a safer place for children to be children- not brave victims!!! We are doing this because we do not want future generations to suffer the impact of CSA. Together, we will break the cycle of silence that perpetuates the cycle of childhood sexual abuse.
