Description
Alex Curwin, 21, and Miranda Gali, classmates in EAS 560 at the University of Michigan, discussed how issues of resource descent and climate change can be coped with using concepts learned in class as well as ways to make communities more supportive and resilient. Specifically, attention was brought to the emotional challenges associated with climate change such as grief, and specific ways of managing and coping with these emotions that are informed by a physiological understanding of the human body. Furthermore, we discussed specific ways in which neighborhoods could be designed to better support individuals' attentional and other cognitive needs to better function and adapt to changing environmental conditions.Participants
