David Cordero (DC) recalls seeing his mother volunteer and asks where her love for volunteering began.
Cindy Cordero (CC) remembers a fundraiser event where her entire family was “jailed,” and other relatives were encouraged to raise money to “bail” them out.
CC recalls volunteering at a Christmas fair at DC’s elementary school. DC shares what he believes was his first volunteering experience, but CC disagrees and reminds him of an earlier one from his teenage years.
CC reflects on the intense atmosphere created by parents during kids’ baseball games. DC talks about getting involved with the Utah Honor Flight organization.
DC discusses his role as co-chair of the veterans’ coalition and asks CC if she ever imagined her volunteering would eventually lead to a 32-year paid position.
