Cynthia Haslem (79) talks about her childhood experiences growing up in a strict household in the 50’s and 60’s with her granddaughter, Erin Haslem (23). The interview takes place in Livonia, Michigan in Cindy’s current home. Cindy lived in Dearborn, Michigan her whole life, having dreams of becoming a teacher that were not allowed to be pursued. She goes into detail how gender, time, and family restricted her from being who she truly wanted to be. She speaks on how hard it was being a women in her younger years and how society has changed from then to now.
