Description

In February of 1965 David Dodson, then an Assistant Chaplain at Colgate University, drove from New York to Atlanta, Georgia along with James Martin and another black Colgate student to attend a meeting of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) which was working for civil rights in the South. This is the story of David’s first-hand experience of waking up to the realities of the climate of racism on that drive and at the meeting, and what he learned about the black-white divide within the SNCC, and about the politics of power.
