00:02 Okay, this is a. This is an ethnographic interview as a. In the IEP program. So my name is Kazuki Kuroka.
00:15 And my name is Rinka Hoshino My name is Sarah Asuba.
00:20 Yeah, today is November 30th to 2023. I'm speaking. Oh no, I'm recording. We are recording in. We are recording in the library at mnsu. So let's move on to the first question. So first things. First things. Yeah, first and foremost. So I direct you. I would like you. I would like to ask you why did. Why did you come to mnsu? So what about you, Sarah
01:07 I come to MNSU to study medicine because I did some research research on the website and I saw that they offer a good program in medicine. That's why I chose mnsu. But I'm learning English right now.
01:33 Right now. Okay, so after IAB program, are you moving. Are you. Are you going to move on to the undergraduate undergraduates of some university?
01:47 No. Here.
01:48 Here. Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's good. Okay, thank you. Thank you for sharing. Answer. So what about you, Rinka
02:01 I come to MNSU because there are my universities studying program. So. And I want to come. I want to go us. So I choose this. This school.
02:24 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:27 That's all.
02:28 That's nice.
02:29 So what about you?
02:32 Me?
02:33 Yeah.
02:36 I chose mnsu. I came to MNSU because I wanted. I want to. I want to learn more about teaching English. I am currently learning teso. Teaching English to the second to the speaker of other languages. As a graduate school. As a graduate student, before I came here, I was working as a high school English teacher in Japan. So then I thought I needed more knowledge about teaching English. So I decided to come. I decided to come here to learn more about teaching English. So currently I am learning some knowledge or skills of teaching English at my course. Their program is a little bit tough for me, but their courses are always interesting. So I like. Yeah, I like the classes at mnsu.
04:03 Okay, so next, what do you think is the most important to make a good relationship is your friendship. But how about Sarah I think to make a good relationship with your friends, you have to communicate, trust each other, support each other. Forgiveness. Because it's very important to forgive your partner. Also understanding, effort.
04:54 Understanding effort.
04:56 No, and understanding and make effort.
05:00 Oh, understanding and make effort. Okay. To know each other. Right? Okay. Yeah. That's very interesting. Very good. Good things to keep a good relationship. How about you, Rinka
05:17 In my opinion, I think it's about trust. For example, you will not want to be with someone who doesn't keep their promise or keep your secret. However, instead of being serious all the time, I think it's good to have fun together and talk seriously from time to time. As humans, we should keep our promise and secret. I think that is good relationship.
05:52 Yeah, that's true. Keeping promises always good and important and essential.
06:05 Yeah.
06:05 Yeah.
06:06 What do you think?
06:12 I believe keep keeping equal relationship is important to like keep a good relationship with your friends. Because if either has more power than the other, the relationship and the power relationship is not going well. So for example, one is always. No, for example, if one has more power than always have more power than the other, the other has to obey to the powerful one. Always have to obey to the powerful one. So the power relationship is not equal. So the keeping equal power balance is important to make keep a good relationship in my opinion. Yes.
07:42 What do you think about male and female relationship as friends? This is similar to what I said earlier. And I think trust is important for both men and women. Even though we are different gender doesn't mean we can say whatever we want. And I think it's good to remember to respect each other and keep our secret and promise. It is good to have friends as opposite sex because you can tell other person everything about your relationship if you have a problem and he can advance you. I think. But my other point is that maybe it's will not good for your relationship if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend because your partner can be genius if you spend more time with that person than him.
09:17 Hopefully. Yeah, that's true.
09:20 But it's. It's good to have a friend.
09:26 Yeah.
09:28 What about you?
09:29 Me? I think keeping. I believe keeping good relationship with among male and female is possible. Yeah, as. As long as. Yeah, as long as they trust each other and their partners trust their trust themselves. As you said Sarah As Sarah said, sometimes the partner feels jealous to the differentiator friends because they have spent they spend more time with his or her partner. But yeah, it depends on personality. So trusting your partner does not make not make jealousy to different gender friends. So it depends on their personality. So. And actually I have some friends, some female friends as just a friend because they are good, they have good personality and they are trustworthy and yeah, I mean they are good persons. So they are just friends. Okay, let's move on to the next question. So what is the best memory with your family or one of your family members? Members? So what do you think, sir?
11:45 In my case my best memory with my parents was last December when we went to a beach for a couple of days. And my parents are very breezy, so me and my sim blanks don't spend time with them. So that was very good for us to spend time with them. So about the beach, it was very good, very peaceful. We. We played some family games, eat a lot of food, Swim.
12:39 Swim. Swim.
12:40 Yeah. So that was good.
12:43 Yeah.
12:44 Took some picture.
12:49 What is the. What did you do as a family game? Some board game. Board game?
13:04 Yeah.
13:05 Like chess.
13:08 Yeah. Yeah.
13:09 Oh, chess. That's good.
13:11 Where. Where is this beach? The beach where?
13:17 The beach.
13:17 The beach?
13:18 Yeah.
13:18 It's in our coast in my country, but it's not in the. The. The city in like countryside. Yeah, yeah, countryside. It's very good. Very beautiful. The name is Asini Beach.
13:35 Asini Beach. Okay. Yeah, that's. I want to go there someday. Yeah. So what about you, Rinka
13:54 My best memory with my family is to Okinawa. My brother and I are six years apart. So this, this was. This trip was our last trip as a family because he is married. So I went to Okinawa every year from I was little kid until I was in high school. So I have a lot of memory in Okinawa and there are many shi. Activities. For example, you know, caring, driving, climbing, mountain. It's. While these are very, very fun. So. So that's why I. My best memory is Okinawa.
14:55 Yeah. That's nice. Okinawa. I love Okinawa too. Yeah. Okay. My best memory with my grandmother is. Yeah, okay. I'm gonna tell you about my best memory with my grandmother. So When I was 10 years old, my leg was broken by traffic accident. So I was. I have to stay. I had to stay hospitalized to stay at hospital for about one month. So maybe, you know, the food in the hospital is not so good. So. Yeah, I was. I was fed up with those dishes. So one day I requested by my grandmother to buy some good or delicious meal for me. So then after that, my grandmother bought me a steak with a special sauce. Yeah. So the steak. The steak at that time was special for me because not only good, not only just delicious, but also. Yeah. My goodness. Yeah. My parents, my grandmother all the way bought it for me. So that was very happy time and good memory.
16:43 Which is the best meal. Does your grandmother smile? Make.
16:49 Make. I didn't see my grandmother make. Make something. Made something. But yeah, because he was. No, no, she was too old when I was kids. She was already too old when I was kids.
17:07 I know.
17:08 So. Yeah. So I don't. I don't know. Yeah, but she bring me to many good restaurants, so that's a good memory.
17:24 That's good.
17:25 Yeah. Okay, this is the final question, so thank you for. Thank you for listening to our presentation or ethnographic interviews.
