"Family is the Idol of Philippine Society"

Description

This interview was done for the "Great Thanksgiving Listen 2019" on November 30, 2019 with my sister. Since she was not able to make it to Thanksgiving due to personal reasons, I interviewed her while she was in New York. Janina lived in the Philippines for 21 years while I lived there for 13 years and immigrated in May 2016. We discussed the cultural differences between Filipino and American society and how America has changed her values. In this interview, she specifically addressed family and its significance on Philippine society. We also talked about her faith, her memories growing up, the most significant person in her life and her thoughts of me as we grew up together.
