Description

With experiences from Azerbaijan, India and the United States, three scientists discuss how they’ve shared their passion for science in society and data transparency from generation to generation. They hope future generations continue to use data to help people withstand and survive natural hazards. Alik Ismail-Zadeh founded the AGU natural hazards focus group to help achieve this goal and Ramesh Singh is the outgoing president of the group. His son, Ritesh Gautam, follows in his father's footsteps by focusing on similar issues as a senior physical scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund in DC. (Recorded 12 December 2018)
