In this interview, conducted in December 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee, I interviewed my grandmother Ann Farris, whom I call Yia Yia. We discussed growing up in Memphis, Tennessee and coming from a very Greek family. I learned more about my grandmother’s childhood and also about what she was like growing up as well as what my mom was like growing up. My grandmother talked to me about her role models then and now and towards the end of the discussion I learned about her and my grandfather’s life together.
