“I have friends that do kinds of jobs that you wouldn't expect scientists to do if you didn't know better.” An interview with Erica Bickford

Recorded July 29, 2019 18:20 minutes

Description

Erica Bickford’s advice to early career scientists or students is to look outside academia and explore all the potential career options available to scientists. She is particularly aware of the importance of science in daily life and in the policy making process, given her current position as a science research program manager in the US government and prior experience as an AGU fellow in a senator’s office. She also talks about recognizing the achievements and contributions of women scientists throughout history and how that helps more people connect with science. (Recorded 14 December 2018)
