Chris Hain from the Short-term Prediction Research and Transition Center helps turn NASA data into information that non-scientists can use. One of his big projects is monitoring plant stress from space, which can give farmers a 2-4 week early warning about future drought. Originally given the project when he wanted to study storms instead, it wasn't until a year later that he realized he felt like he was contributing to society.

"When it comes to climate change, humans are relatively well adapted to changes in temperature; however, humans aren’t as well positioned to adapt to large changes in food and water security”. (Recorded 11 December 2018)
