From softball games to phone systems to Friday choir practice at the bar, this was all part of the life of Ellen Kappel in the Joint Oceanographic Institutions office. Ellen shares some highlights of her time working as a program manager in the JOI Office in Washington DC, her challenge departing JOIDES Resolution after her first and only expedition, and how her time at JOI set her on a career pathway for life.
