Description

Originally a celebration of Black History Month, February 2018, Middlebury College's Davis Family Library initiated a series of oral interviews, "In Your Own Words." In them, Literatures & Cultures Librarian Katrina Spencer engages members of the community who trace their origins to the broad black diaspora(s) of the world. Listen to Middlebury College assistant basketball coach Kyle [López] Dudley talk about his background and make recommendations of library resources. Kyle highlights William "Bill" Rhoden's 40 Million Dollar Slaves, Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing and Oscar Micheaux's Within Our Gates. He is also a fan of the television series The Wire and suggested we mention Jordan Peele's film, Get Out, in the metadata, too.
