Interview with Esmilsa Alford-Christian

Description

Esmilsa and I talked about how she came to Knoxville from Nicaragua while a teenager and how she has come to see East Tennessee and Appalachia as her home. She also spoke about the differences and similarities between East Tennessee and Nicaragua as well as regional stereotypes and her experience and understanding of them. Lastly, she talked about her love of the mountain landscape and how it reminds her of her childhood as well as how she loves her home in the country outside of Knoxville.
