Description

I interviewed Terence Burnett about his time serving in the Navy during the Vietnam war. We discussed When and why he enlisted and what made him choose his branch of service. I asked him about his bootcamp experience. He told stories of the difficult times in bootcamp and the times him and his friends had fun in boot camp. Then we talked about the first part of his service when he was stationed off shore on Hawaii. He told me about the funny pranks that he would play while he was stationed there. Then we discussed his service while he was stationed on the aircraft carrier the U.S.S Iwo Jima. He explained that this assignment was much more serious than his Hawaii assignments and that they did not play pranks on the carrier. Finally we discussed his difficult adjustment back to civilian life after he left the service and what he had learned from the service.
