Description

I interviewed my grandma, Hilda Fowler on her life, but especially her childhood. My grandma grew up in North Carolina just outside of Raleigh. Her whole life she lived in the south. She was born on March 7, 1936 and had 5 siblings. During the interview my grandma talked about her struggles of growing up, poor, in the south during the 1930’s and 40’s. Throughout the interview she mentions how she always had to work either on her families farm or in the fields picking cotton. My grandma’s family was always poor and with 5 siblings they had it tough. Overall my grandma recalls that she has lived a great life even with a lot of tough periods in her life.
