Jeff Larsen shares that he and Sarah Goth are getting married in three months.
Jeff and Sarah recall both being employed at the Washington Pavilion, a multi-function event venue in Sioux Falls.
Sarah shares that she believes that she caught feelings first, while Jeff thinks they both knew something "was up" between them.
Sarah mentions Christmas 2019, and looking up and noticing that Jeff was "a man."
Jeff speaks about COVID-19 hitting, and their move to virtual meetings at work.
Jeff and Sarah recall how at some point, they were the only ones attending the virtual meetings. They were having hour-long phone conversations.
Sarah speaks about Jeff putting in his two week notice and she was so happy, then Jeff added that he was moving to Los Angeles because he hadn't been accepted in to any of the graduate schools that he applied to attend.
The pair recall how after Jeff gave notice he and Sarah began openly flirting with each other, often using other employees as a foil to their romantic moments.
Sarah talks about Jeff's last day on the job. Jeff mentions that it was November 7th and Joe Biden had been named President. He mentions that it was a bittersweet day. He was happy for the Biden presidency but sad to be leaving Sarah.
The pair remember that they had planned activities for his last day, but Sarah's sister Mara had gone into labor with their niece, Isabella.
Jeff tells the story of coming back to work on November 8th. Sarah had found a note from him on her desk. They had their first kiss that day, and Jeff left for Los Angeles the next day.
Jeff shared his plan to come home for the holidays, and his father's boss calling because his dad had been in an accident that left him with a concussion.
Jeff remembers arriving in Sioux Falls and going to the hospital to check on his dad. He then headed to the Washington Pavilion to see Sarah. When Sarah saw him, she immediately asked him out. Some of their co-workers cheered, some had no idea.
Jeff recalls getting into grad school, his Dad recovering, and the worst decision he ever made (moving to Los Angeles) resulted in finally getting everything he wanted. The pair will be married on 11/8/25, the anniversary of their first kiss.
