KR shares that he did not get politically involved until 15 years ago when he visited NYC with his wife and was politically assumed based off the fact that he is from California.
JG shares that he was made politically aware at age 8 when Regan was shot. He remembers how emotional his teachers were after, as well as the threat of the Cold War.
JG shares how music has supported him emotionally during tough times in his life. When he was a teenager he started to play drums and got involved with punk music.
JG asks KR about his career as a correctional officer and his stance on the prison system as a whole. KG shares that he does not support private prisons since they don't care about the wellbeing of the inmates.
JG asks KR about prison reform. KR says that there is an inflated ego that comes with a badge.
JG and KR talk about the COVID-19 pandemic. JG shares that he has taken precautions to stay safe during the pandemic for his own safety but out of respect for human life as a whole. KR shares that his famIly has been impacted by testing positive with COVID-19.
