In this interview, conducted June 6th, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois, Jordy Basabe (17) interviews his mother Yolanda Silva (41) about her childhood in Mexico and her experiences here in the U.S. in Spanish. Ms. Silva shares stories about the experiences and labor the people of Mexico do in order to achieve success. She also compares and contrasts the way life is structured for the people in both Mexico and the U.S. through her point of view. Ms. Silva offers stories of what she regrets doing, conveying what she has lost. At the end, Ms. Silva gives advice for people to hear and take action, as well as what she wants to accomplish in the future.
