Description
Who says work ends when you retire? For Tom Dunne, University of California Santa Barbara, the work is still finding him. Instead of heading off to the Amazon to find discovery, these days he need only look out his window at Montecito. It’s often hard to appreciate all the aspects of our work when we’re in the middle of making it happen, a problem often solved by the miracle of hindsight. One thing Tom definitely appreciated at the time was the opportunity to meet and be influenced by groundbreaking geologist Luna Leopold. Tom passes on his favorite bit of wisdom from Leopold to close this interview, about tackling questions big and not so big. (Recorded 14 December 2018)
