Remember when they were offered the twins to be fostered; they were in the midst of losing Isiah, their first placement. “We needed the boys.”
Bob and Nicole describe the twins, Jacob and Michael. They were 14 months old. Jacob threw up all over Bob during the first visit.
They remember Bob’s father and how he got to meet and hold Jane during the last months of his life.
Nicole remembers the letter she wrote to the boy’s birth mother and the day in court when they knew the mother had voluntarily dissolved her parental rights.
They talk about open adoption and their choice to maintain open adoptions for all their children
Nicole remembers finding out she was pregnant at age 42, Bob was shocked and the kids were all excited.
The way they feel about their adopted children hasn’t changed at all, “just proves that love transcends how a person got to you.”
