Description

Me and my grandfather, Barry, talked about growing up in Virginia, being in the military during the Vietnam War, and the impacts of segregation in his life. He talks about what school was like through elementary, junior high, and high school, as well as what he did for fun as a teenager. After graduating high school, he discusses how he found his way to joining the military and becoming a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, he worked with a close friend, through whom he learned the true impact of segregation in society. To finish the interview, my grandfather gave some advice to kids my age.
