Description

"I asked my grandmother how she found out about new music in my interview and she said that TV played a large role with programs like "American Band Stand". She also would attend dances held on Saturday nights at local schools or parishes and they would listen and dance to the latest popular music. Although it's popular again to collect vinyl records, it was the only way music was available to be played. Another very interesting thing from our talk was that groups of young men would sing a cappella on the street corners. This has changed drastically since then; digital technology has taken us from pressed wax to compressed computer files."
