Description"If it's hard, you have to try harder."
Not only was Patrick Buonfiglio (or Mr. B as he is affectionately called by his students), a willing and happy student in Saugerties, but he was an avid and active participant in the changes that developed in the educational system over time. Pat grew from student to teacher to principal when he was asked to open the doors of the new Grant D. Morse elementary school in 1965. No stranger to challenges, Pat worked with his staff and local parents to create a successful opening despite the fact that the building was unfinished and lacked necessary spaces and systems. Finding a way to make things work was his credo...and that included his compassionate way of working with students who were challenging!
