Pendar Khosravi (35) thanks his brother, Payvand Khosravi (33), for coming to StoryCorps to have this conversation.
Pendar says he and Payvand had an up and down relationship while growing up. He says their family is Persian. Pendar says their parents are first generation immigrants from Iran.
Payvand says his earliest memories are from Champions Green Apartments in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Payvand says he has very little memory of Iran. Pendar says hearing the same story over and over can make it seem like your own memory.
Pendar talks about their family's close knit group of Persian friends.
Payvand talks about Champions Green some more. He remembers the field where they played football.
Payvand says he looked up to Pendar and thought his brother was perfect. Payvand says he still doesn't know where his life is going. Payvand talks about always thinking that everyone else knows what to do.
Pendar says he never had a plan and that many of his decisions have been spontaneous. Payvand says his own attitude was to go with the flow.

Pendar says he likes big families where there is a lot going on. He says the independence of the United States is isolating.
