Description

As an associate professor of Earth & Environmental Sciences and volcanologist at Denison University, Erik Klemetti works on volcanoes all over the planet, from Chile to New Zealand to the Cascades of Oregon and California. His research focusses on how crystals record the events inside a volcano before and between eruptions. We talked with him about proving naysayers wrong, some of his favorite places to do research (spoiler alert: volcanos), and the importance to being a good mentor in the sciences.
