Pollinating citizen advocates

John Friedrich (56) talks with his friend Bob Alpern (92) talks about his work over 30 years with the Unitarian Universalist Association and Friends Committee on National Legislation, traveling across the United States conducting advocacy training workshops to “pollinate citizen advocates, citizen lobbyists."

Bob helped people get beyond anxiety, and helped people be active, vocal constituents. His aspiration was for those who participated in his trainings to follow through and help bring the message of what they're feeling – whether about war and peace and arms and racism and poverty to those who are supposed to represent them.
