Description
Nina Korican (48) talks with her husband Adolfo Freinquel (60) about their spiritual journeys through Judaism and how they have made a life together.Subject Log / Time Code
N's parents were Holocaust survivors and she developed a deep, though not spiritual connection with her family.
After taking a class on Judaism N began to understand the history Judaism and her place in it.
Judaism now shapes N's life and is central to it.
A has always been looking for answers beyond daily life, searching in books, travel and study.
N and A have had separate spiritual paths but they both meet together in their religious practice.
N grew up in a commune during the 1960's in Southern Oregon. The commune was in a rural, conservative region and the children felt ostracized by the larger community.
In this commune N learned what outsiders experience and this has helped her to accept others who are different.
