Rodolfo's life was hard in the Philippines when growing up. His father was a fisherman and his mother sold fruit in a public market.
R was the youngest of 8 with 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
R worked as an accountant in the Philippines and immigrated to the US in 1972 due to the economic hardship at home.
R settled in NYC and was moved by the sight of the Statue of Liberty.
R's first job was as a tax analyst at MGM. He learned on the job with the help of a mentor.
R found work later at CBS where he met his future wife.
They were wed on Governors Island in New York. Due to martial law in the Philippines they decided to marry in the US instead of taking the risk of going home to the Islands.
R and his wife didn't plan on a large family but wound up 5 sons and a daughter.
R describes himself as a hands on dad.
R's wisdom for his descendants is to "do your best and be number one all the time".
