00:00 My name is Nadine Walker. I'm 40 years old and I'm from the Bronx. I am strong, reliable and loving. My story isn't my story. It's my brother's story. My brother, Edward Campos, was in a relationship that was. That was misled into thinking it would be a positive one. When my brother saw the red flags, which was jealousy, insecurities, envy and violence, he wanted to leave. In the process of him ending this, this person decided to take matters into their own hands. She decided to inflict pain that resulted into my brother's ending of life. On March 12th at 5:55pm my advice for all genders is if you are unhappy and you see the red flags, please do not ignore or allow religion or stigma for you to stay with that person. But for my gentlemen, I want you to know that you are not alone. Speaking up for yourself does not make you less of a man. I encourage y'all to speak up, talk to someone. There are always someone there that's willing to listen and wants to help. We are here and we are willing to listen to you. It wasn't until February 16th that I had a phone call with my brother where he explained to me the impact of the relationship, where he explained to me how the girl was being controlling and how she was being jealous. And at some point he did mention that she did put her hands on him and he said I didn't hit her back. My advice for anyone is one, do not allow your family or stigma religion to control who you are. If you feel like you're uncomfortable or if you feel like this person doesn't make you happy or they're constantly blaming you, take a deep look inside yourself and realize that you are not the problem. And it's okay to talk about it. There's always somebody there for you, but speaking up is the first thing you should do.
