00:01 My name is Madi Leo. I am 16 years old. Today is November 27, 2022, and I'm speaking with Jolie Leo, who is my mother. I am recording this interview in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. Can you tell me about your childhood? Do you remember any of the stories they used to tell you?
00:19 My mom used to tell me that she had bought me a pair of patent leather shoes. And I was so excited and I loved them so much that they couldn't get them off my feet. I even slept with them at night.
00:31 Can you tell me about where you grew up, what it was like?
00:35 I grew up in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. My parents were divorced and we lived with my grandparents. And it was the best because my pap was like my dad and my gram was the best baker and she would always pack cookies in my lunch and make the best lunches.
00:54 How did you meet your spouse slash partner?
00:58 I met my husband at my work. I'm a nurse and he was one of our patients.
01:05 Can you tell me one of your happiest child memories and then one of your worst child memories?
01:11 One of the happiest memories I have was when we spent a weekend with my dad and when he brought us home, my grandparents had decorated my sister and I's room with Cabbage patch Kid sheets and Cabbage patch Kid dolls and a lamp. And I was so excited. And one of the worst memories was I got stung by a bee. We were playing at one of the neighbor's house and I got stung by a bee. And my sister had to carry me the whole way home because it hurt so bad I couldn't walk.
01:47 Okay, thank you.
