Conducted in Santa Cruz, California, student Kayla Penny (age 15) interviews Susan Fisher (age 45) about a childhood story and the effect it had on Susan’s future. Fisher shares her story of dealing with individuals troubled with mental health such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and chronic depression. Mrs. Fisher describes the empathy she has developed over her years of life after dealing with those mentally in desperate need for help and care and compassion from those like Susan Fisher willing to help them. In the last few moments of the interview, Fisher shares a profound lesson that has influenced her for the better, and is something she would like to spread to all people who are dedicated to helping those who need love and care, no matter how different or troubled they may be.
