Tori Pavlovich, a rock magnetist from University of Utah, joined JOIDES Resolution for Expedition 402. She knew she would be celebrating her birthday while at sea with an incredibly unique birthday celebration. But the professional and personal connections she made, her journaling activities on board, and how her lucky number was especially lucky for an expedition contest, were just as unique and special.
