Interview with mom

This interview briefly covered Ginny's early years growing up in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, plus her time in Tacoma and Olalla, WA. She discusses fond memories, family, and friends.

My grandmother raised me alongside my mom when I was growing up. With that in mind, interviewing her was the only option.

The son of a coal miner in Pennsylvania tells about life in the 1930s. Living off one ton of coal a year, wearing patched up socks, and helping dad with collecting coal in buckets.

We talked about my grandmother’s childhood and her experiences. We also discussed her work experience and political views.

I have interviewed my grandmother about her childhood from 1941 to 1945, during WW2. She was nine or ten when the war ended in 1945.
