We talked about my dads life in Cuba and how he ended up coming to the United States.

Today I spoke about how my mom and her family made her new life in the United States. Her struggles, motivations, and role models who have been there for her.

My name is Melanie Riera and i’m 18 years old and i interviewed my mom Diana. We discussed early childhood and family life and what it was like to grow up and eventually escape Cuba.

Questions were asked about her childhood, marriage, and parenthood were asked. Tammy discussed her experiences and thoughts on these topics.

During this interview, I asked my mother questions about her childhood, our family history, and great moments that have been significant in our lives.

We discussed the challenges in their lives and how their relationship brings out each other's best and worst. My grandfather also enlighten us with his stories of his prior years living in Cuba.

Interview with Maria Tapias about emigrating from Cuba

This interview was in Spanish. It talked about the life my mother, Lucia, had in Cuba. The events that occurred, how her father was a doctor and it was very difficult to leave because he was needed in hospitals.

We talked about her life as a whole and how it has been.
