My grandma, Joanne “Mimi” Martin, and I talked about her experiences with many different things including voting, living in Japan, traveling, working, and growing up in the 1940s. We talked about her job in Japan during Vietnam. She told me about her favorite relative and how important he was to her. We talked about her first time voting and her many jobs working as a model to school teacher, saleswoman to artist. Finally, she talked about how she wants to be remembered.
