Dr. Adno Gatah is the medical director at Hi-Gate Urgent Care for Children. She is a triple board-certified nurse practitioner in the pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations and has worked in a nonprofit clinic in downtown South Minneapolis serving multicultural and multilingual populations. Dr. Gatah's goal is to improve the physical and mental health well-being of marginalized and underserved communities. She has done many seminars and sessions for other primary care providers to raise awareness of racial and ethnic disparities, promote collective understanding of cultural humility, and equitable care using evidence-based guidelines in health care settings and beyond. She believes that cultural humility in health care leads to a positive interaction between patients and providers.
Throughout her professional career, Dr. Gatah has focused on providing primary care that is culturally responsive and is a strong advocate on issues of race, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the healthcare arena. She has over 15-year experience working with diverse patient populations.
As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she has 10-year experience in working with children who have chronic health Illnesses, mental illnesses, emotional disturbances as well as those with developmental delays, autism, schizophrenia, bipolar, ADHD and other severe mental illnesses. Dr. Gatah has led many initiatives in addressing health disparities faced by the underrepresented communities in Minneapolis and greater Minnesota.
