Allison Theisen Interview

Description

This is an interview with Allison Theisen in which we take a deep dive into her religious life and how it intersects with her membership in the LGBTQ community. We go over her upbringing and how she came to her faith, how she has taken charge of deciding and defining her faith, how she was able to integrate her membership in the LGBTQ community into her religious life, and some of the lessons that she has learned along the way through those experiences. Although she personally does not see those two different communities that she is a member of working together, either within her self-concept or within the world at large, she is hopeful that their core values of love and welcoming for all will draw them closer in the future. After sharing her lessons of taking only what serves you, surrounding yourself with people who love you, and making sure to be supportive of yourself, the interview ends with a message of hope and love for yourself and others.
