Description
Andre shares with his sister Alexis about his journey with sickle cell disease. He was originally diagnosed while he was still in his mothers womb and had a stroke at 2 years-old. On numerous occasions he has had to go to the emergency department (ED) because he was in pain crisis. A common symptom of sickle cell. On one trip to the ED he spent 28 hours in crisis before they admitted him and gave him a bed. Through it all he is upbeat and hopes others can benefit from the work he does.
