00:03 My name is Cate St. Clair. I am 24 years old today is July 12th. 2014. I'm in the Atlanta storycorps booth and I'm here with my fiance Dan.

00:17 My name is Daniel Miss are my age is 24 years old.

00:22 Today is July 12th, 2014 located at the Atlanta storycorps booth and I'm with my fiance.

00:36 So I guess I want to ask my first question which is what were you thinking when we first met?

00:50 When we first met was outside the cafeteria at Seton Hall University.

00:57 And

00:59 I guess I was a typical males thinking. Wow. She looks really really good.

01:06 So I wanted to get to know this girl a little bit better and luckily you were with a mutual friend of mine that I met during my freshman year. This was the second your answer was our sophomore year.

01:20 So it was right after we get back from Summer and

01:27 Basically wanted to catch up and say hi. How's it going in and finally got to be introduced to you. And so I guess that how that's how I was able to first meet you and

01:43 I just wanted to learn more as time went on.

01:49 Sup, Patrice

01:52 I like I remember her last name though.

01:55 Neither do I set up Patrice? Remember if I asked you where you asked me for the number, but I remember entering you in his Dan Cabrini cuz we both lived in Cabrini Hall.

02:16 And I thought that was pretty funny cuz you are entered in his Dan Cabrini for a good three months.

02:25 So you didn't even put in my last name you just put in the dormitory for my last name for 3 months.

02:36 I know that same day. We had our first kiss that night and I guess I'm wondering

02:43 What made you go in for that?

02:47 What I thought was a risk worth taking.

02:53 I will see what do we do that night?

02:57 I think we just kind of hung out and I was with my roommates and we're watching a movie together and Independence Day another one, but

03:10 You know, I didn't want the night to end. So I'm like, alright, let me walk you back and luckily we're in the same dorm room seem like it's only two floors down over floor. So we walk over and we go to the elevator end.

03:25 I'm like, well, I could either not kiss her or kiss her. What do I do if I go out for the rest? Why not? And so the door is closed and gave you a passionate kiss and finally made it that one floor down and walk you to your room and just

03:44 I don't remember ever wanting to leave that elevator.

03:49 So

03:53 I think you did a happy girl dance afterwards think that's what you told me. Right? What did you think of?

04:02 When I invited you to join us to Ellis Island.

04:07 Well, I thought it was a I've never been to Ellis Island before and I thought well, this is the place where everyone learns about their past and history and

04:18 Canada figure out more about theirselves or themselves

04:24 So like what and this is also a great way to further to know this awesome girl that I met following a night or two nights ago within that week like right. Well, let's go together and learn more about ourselves and make a day out of it have to go to New York City and everything and spend some quality time together. I was really excited cuz Jess and I've been planning on going to Ellis Island for a while just was my college roommate at the time and Jessica Fuller and Pat and she had this guy passed that she really liked and she and I told her I was like, well, I invited Dan and I want him to come and she was nervous cuz she didn't know how Pat felt about her. And so she asked Pat

05:11 And I wasn't really excited cuz I got to look up a family relative. I was in my mom's Father's Side believe and what actually came over from Norway.

05:23 And

05:25 What I remember is getting off the boat.

05:27 And there were those musicians that were outside. You mean after we left Ellis Island Battery Park, I believe so we took a boat to Ellis Island. And then we took a boat off Ellis Island to go and make a day in New York City and there were these musicians that were playing I was drawn to him and I just took off running when I heard the music what?

05:51 Remember you guys join me afterwards? Yeah, you you kind of disappeared in the crowd. I didn't know where you went. I was just hanging out with Justin Patton the time and barely knew them.

06:02 Barely knew you don't like this girl. Just ran away from me. Where did she go? I mean I was supposed to spend the day with her and now she's gone.

06:09 So I asked Jessica and

06:14 I was trying like work, where would she go? And she's like, well, she probably went to check out those Street musicians over there. Let's go and check out that are in bathrobe at I believe. Yeah, I don't know. They weren't musicians. They were Street a cube at was acrobat acrobat Street acrobats and

06:35 They did their trick by jumping over people and doing some crazy moves and there's a lot of fun that watch but you were there in the crowd just watching them and finally found you.
