[00:03] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: My name is Carolyn. Stephen is my brother, and Kelly is my friend. We live in Alabama, and I'm 40.

[00:25] KELLY BLAKE: Hello, my. I am Kelly. I'm 31. Today is November 3, 2023. We are in Mobile, Alabama, and I am with Carolyn and Stephen, which are both my friends.

[00:42] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hello. I'm Stephen Mokrzycki and I'm 41, and I am from mobile, alabama, and I'm with Carolyn, my sister, and my Kelly, my friend.

[00:54] KELLY BLAKE: Awesome. All right, I think we're in this, so I think we can start asking each other some questions. I've got a few for y'all if you want to answer. Want to? All right. Hoping you guys can tell me a little bit about, like, where you were born and where you guys grew up. We can start with that, and then we'll. I've got more for you. You can tell me about where you guys were born.

[01:24] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I was born in Michigan and I grew up in Alabama.

[01:34] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. When did he move from Michigan to Alabama?

[01:49] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: After we sold the horse. I was so a baby then, and we moved all over to all the houses. We got dogs and cats, and then we moved to county road 32, Verbena Alabama.

[02:09] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. And that's where you kind of grew up?

[02:11] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[02:12] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. You too, Steven.

[02:15] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[02:15] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. All right. And then how old were you guys when you came to first light? Did you guys come at the same time?

[02:26] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, no.

[02:29] KELLY BLAKE: You moved in first?

[02:30] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[02:31] KELLY BLAKE: And what house did you move into, Stephen?

[02:33] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: 30, 60.

[02:35] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, you were in your own apartment?

[02:36] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah, yeah, we lived in apartment before coming here.

[02:40] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, I guess I didn't realize that. So you guys, did you guys live in that apartment together?

[02:46] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[02:47] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. And where was that?

[02:51] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: That was in different town.

[02:55] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. In Alabama.

[02:57] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[02:58] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. Well, cool. But before that, you guys lived with your mom?

[03:03] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[03:04] KELLY BLAKE: Your dad?

[03:05] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[03:05] KELLY BLAKE: Ok. You took care of some animals. What did you do while you were there?

[03:13] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: We have dogs and cats and now. And we have cows and we have pigs and goats.

[03:20] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm.

[03:21] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: We had a donkey, too. Yeah. And we have chickens and roosters.

[03:27] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, my gosh. And you know how to take care of them all?

[03:29] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[03:31] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, my gosh. Okay, well, cool. And then, so what year did you come to first light community?

[03:40] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I came in January 2012.

[03:45] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. And then when did you come, Carolyn?

[03:49] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I came here the 20th of, I.

[03:55] KELLY BLAKE: Think it was Courtney's birthday or my birthday.

[03:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Oh, your birthday.

[03:58] KELLY BLAKE: April 20.

[03:59] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah, I came here on your birthday.

[04:01] KELLY BLAKE: And then what year was that?

[04:04] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: April 20.

[04:05] KELLY BLAKE: April 20. I think probably 2012, right?

[04:09] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah, right.

[04:09] KELLY BLAKE: A little bit after Steven.

[04:11] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[04:12] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, interesting. And then you moved into 1360?

[04:17] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[04:18] KELLY BLAKE: And then what house were you in? Oh, 161.

[04:20] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: 161.

[04:21] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. Cool. And then when 109 opened, you guys both moved there?

[04:26] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[04:27] KELLY BLAKE: Cool. And what do you like about living in first light? Or do you like. Do you like how things have evolved since you've lived here?

[04:41] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[04:43] KELLY BLAKE: What are your favorite things about it?

[04:51] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Swimming games, making lots of friends.

[04:57] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. So tell me about some of the leagues that you've been in with since coming here.

[05:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: See, when we came here, we did. We saw in the swimming limits. Yeah. We were active in the bowling league. Bowling league.

[05:18] KELLY BLAKE: And you did square dancing for dancing.

[05:21] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yes. And we were in. And I'm in the knights.

[05:31] KELLY BLAKE: Right. So tell me about the Knights of Columbus.

[05:34] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: They. They, like, take care of people and then they have events.

[05:49] KELLY BLAKE: So were you involved in the Knights of Columbus when you were at home before you came here or you just got involved when you came here?

[05:56] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, I used to be involved when I was at home.

[06:00] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. So then you could just transfer here?

[06:02] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[06:04] KELLY BLAKE: Awesome.

[06:05] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: My dad was involved with him, too.

[06:07] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, I didn't know that. So then what do you do with them while you're here? You go to meetings and stuff?

[06:15] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[06:16] KELLY BLAKE: And what else?

[06:20] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: We have events, like I said. Yeah.

[06:24] KELLY BLAKE: And tell me about the stuff you dress up in.

[06:27] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: We have a fourth degree outfit that I dress up in.

[06:33] KELLY BLAKE: What's it look like?

[06:35] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: It's like red cape. Red and black cape and a hat with a feather in it. And then we have pants and a shirt.

[06:52] KELLY BLAKE: Cool. You got a nice fancy hat with a feather in it.

[06:56] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yep.

[06:57] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. That's pretty cool. All right, tell me what you guys do for work.

[07:04] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, we work at camp. I used. When I came here, I used to work with John Hart with medicine.

[07:22] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, right. I forgot. You did that.

[07:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[07:26] KELLY BLAKE: What'd you do when you did that.

[07:29] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Box? Make boxes for them to send out.

[07:33] KELLY BLAKE: Medicine?

[07:34] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yes.

[07:35] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, yeah. What other jobs have you had?

[07:39] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: And then we had, um, a. I had a job with inkworks.

[07:50] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. What did you do there?

[07:54] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I made. I made hangers.

[07:56] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. Cool. And now you do what?

[08:02] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: And now we do cammies.

[08:03] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. What about you, Carolyn? What type of jobs have you had?

[08:07] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, I. Well, um, I only saw that I had. First had come in here is, um, um, ink works, making putting sizes on hangers for the shirts that they make. And then now, um. Um. Now, um, I work at old dutch cammies

[08:44] KELLY BLAKE: Sometimes you get to bring home some ice cream, right?

[08:46] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[08:47] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. So I'm going back to the old days when you guys lived at home. Did you have any, do you have any siblings?

[08:57] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yes, we, we have, we have a lot of brothers and sisters. Yeah.

[09:09] KELLY BLAKE: They all lived with you guys?

[09:10] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yeah.

[09:12] KELLY BLAKE: Cool. All right. Do you have any questions for me that you could ask me? Any dying questions that you want to know about me?

[09:23] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Sure, I, how is Massachusetts?

[09:26] KELLY BLAKE: So right now it's starting to become really cold in Massachusetts and it's going to become winter, so it's going to start snowing soon, which I am happy I'm not there, but I grew up there. I was born there. I have two sisters. We lived with my mom and we had vacation on Cape Cod. I don't know if you've ever heard of Cape Cod, but it's like kind of like Gulf shores here. People go there to vacation or wherever. Dauphin island, pretty. Oh, it's like Dauphin island, really, the Cape Cod. And it's like the, if you can picture Massachusetts, it's like the little hook on the end of Massachusetts. So it's pretty cool. We vacation there every summer. Every July we go there, and there's about 50 of us that go, which is a lot.

[10:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[10:27] KELLY BLAKE: So, yeah, Massachusetts is starting to get pretty cold because it has four pretty serious seasons. So it's starting to end fall into winter. So it's pretty cold. Yeah. What else? Any questions?

[10:51] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Let's see. How are you liking it in mobile?

[10:56] KELLY BLAKE: How am I liking it? Hmm. Well, I keep coming back, right?

[11:01] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[11:01] KELLY BLAKE: I leave and come back. I leave and come back. I really like it. I like being with y'all. Yeah. I like the weather and I like being here with you guys. So it's pretty, pretty good, I'd say. Yeah. How do you guys living, like, living in mobile?

[11:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: He's great.

[11:26] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. You like your house?

[11:28] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Mm hmm. Yeah.

[11:30] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. What would you, so you both have lived in different houses while living here?

[11:37] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[11:37] KELLY BLAKE: Do you like 109 better or would you like, I've never been in 161, but do you like 1360 or did you like 109 better?

[11:47] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Kind of like 109, yeah. Occasionally I'll go to 1360 to visit.

[12:04] KELLY BLAKE: Did you like 161 or 109 better?

[12:07] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: 109 better?

[12:08] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, it's a little more, I don't know how 161 looked, but I feel like 109 is a little more like.

[12:15] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I know how it worked. I know how it was when I, we used to live there. It was, it was, um, falling apart.

[12:23] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, it was?

[12:24] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yeah.

[12:24] KELLY BLAKE: So it needed a lot of work.

[12:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yeah.

[12:26] KELLY BLAKE: So 109 is probably a little bit better.

[12:30] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. So now they, uh, since we moved in, 109, um, they finally fixed it up and painted it. And now we, we knew people moving in there.

[12:47] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. So how many of you lived at 161? How many of you were there when you moved in? 109 or 161?

[12:57] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Oh, upstairs it was this, me and Sarah and my two cats and Sarah and her bird. That's all is upstairs and downstairs. It was team members Peggy, Lucy, Larry, Willie.

[13:23] KELLY BLAKE: I forgot Larry lived there. He didn't just move to 109. I don't know why I thought that. And who lived at 1360 when you moved in?

[13:35] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Me, Eddie, Diane and Marcel.

[13:45] KELLY BLAKE: That was it.

[13:48] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[13:52] KELLY BLAKE: I wasn't here when you guys came so I can't remember who was there.

[13:55] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[13:58] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, cool. And who worked in those? Veronica was there.

[14:04] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah, Veronica was there.

[14:05] KELLY BLAKE: And Nina. Or was it somebody else?

[14:10] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: It was somebody else. Oh.

[14:12] KELLY BLAKE: Do you remember?

[14:13] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, I can't remember off the top of my head.

[14:19] KELLY BLAKE: And Jerry worked in your house, right? At 161?

[14:22] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[14:23] KELLY BLAKE: Do you remember who else worked there?

[14:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, it, uh, um, see, well, they come, well, all the team members come in in the morning, but there's only one sleepover night that live came in.

[14:46] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm.

[14:47] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I don't know who that was.

[14:49] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, I don't know. My gosh, I'm just trying to, I think back for when, I mean, I wasn't here in 2012 when you guys came, but I feel like a lot of people have come or were there and just trying to think of like, jerry's retired, Veronica's not here, Nina's still here. But a lot of people have either been here for a really long time.

[15:16] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Or they have been, they have been here for a very long time. Now they decided to go back home.

[15:27] KELLY BLAKE: I know we do have some people that come and go.

[15:30] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[15:32] KELLY BLAKE: Either for a year or some people are here for a long time. Some people are here for a year. Right?

[15:38] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[15:40] KELLY BLAKE: All right, cool. All right, I'm gonna ask you guys one of these questions because I feel like these will be helpful. Let's see, Carolyn, where do you see yourself in ten years?

[16:03] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Ten years?

[16:04] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, I.

[16:22] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: My stream was, my wish.

[16:25] KELLY BLAKE: Was.

[16:27] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Go in outer space.

[16:29] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, I didn't know that. You want to go to outer space?

[16:34] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[16:35] KELLY BLAKE: What do you want to see out there? Is there anything in particular you want to see?

[16:39] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I first want to go to the moon. Then I want to go to Mars.

[16:45] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, my gosh. I don't know if anybody's been to Mars. Cool. Hmm. What about you, Steven?

[16:53] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: That's kind of hard. I don't know where I want to see myself in ten years.

[16:58] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, I don't really know, either. I think I want to be making a difference and happy. I want to pay up all my debt. Hopefully in ten years, I'll have all of my debt paid off. Make sure I'm just happy. I think that's my goal.

[17:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[17:26] KELLY BLAKE: I don't have any, I don't have any desire to go to the moon, but, yeah. Would you rather, okay, here's a question for both of you. Would you rather go up to space or go down in a submarine in the ocean?

[17:44] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Ooh.

[17:46] KELLY BLAKE: What do you think?

[17:47] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: That's a hard question. Yeah. Um, let's see. I don't know. A submarine.

[18:00] KELLY BLAKE: You want to go in a submarine? Cause what. Yeah, I think, yeah. I don't know. It's a hard, it's a tough decision.

[18:08] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[18:09] KELLY BLAKE: I think I'd, if I had to pick, I would pick a, um, to go up to space because I feel like we have done that, or they say we've done that more. I mean, I don't know. Maybe not if the submarine's, like, if we know it's not gonna, like, do anything.

[18:33] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[18:33] KELLY BLAKE: We don't know about that first. I don't know. It's hard. It's hard to say. I don't know.

[18:43] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Clued in. There's a lot of trills, and you gotta make sure the submarine is safe.

[18:48] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah.

[18:49] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[18:49] KELLY BLAKE: And the, if you go up to space, you'd have to make sure that the, yeah. What's the spaceship, what's it called? Spaceship is safe, too.

[18:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. You need to make sure it has enough fuel.

[19:03] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. Yeah.

[19:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Get you back. Yeah. If you go. Yeah. Like, when you go in this, at a space in the rocket, they'll fill you. They'll fill, they'll put gasoline in your rocket. They'll fill your, they'll fill your gasoline up in your rocket before taking off in outer space. They'll fill, because I think there's a base in outer space that has, like, a pipe that hooks up to your rocket to fill your gasoline up.

[19:50] KELLY BLAKE: Gosh. Would you write anything on the moon if you were able to get there? Would you, like, write your initials or anything?

[19:59] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[20:00] KELLY BLAKE: Would you leave anything on the moon?

[20:01] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[20:02] KELLY BLAKE: What would it be?

[20:03] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, um. Well, I'll leave my initials and my footprints and leave behind the flag.

[20:19] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. The american flag or any flag that you'd want to bring.

[20:25] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: American flag.

[20:26] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. What about you, Stephen? I know you once said that you would like to be, like, a marine biologist. Maybe you'd like to go underwater and see all those animals in the ocean.

[20:41] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[20:42] KELLY BLAKE: I feel like there's so much of the ocean that we don't know about.

[20:45] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[20:47] KELLY BLAKE: So going to see all those animals in the ocean. The other day, I was watching a video of, like, a man, like, I don't know, not, like, on a board in the ocean. Like, you know, those paddle boards that you stand up on? And he was using one of those, like, pretty far out in the ocean. And a whale just comes up and, like, breaches the water, and he knocks them over on the paddle board. Can you believe it?

[21:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. I can't see myself on the paddle board because I can't even keep my balance.

[21:24] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. I don't think I would be either. I'm good on a boat or, like, a paddle boat or something. Would you rather the pool or an ocean swimming in?

[21:38] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, uh, I think a pool would be much safer. I like those.

[21:48] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, I like swimming in a pool because the salt water really, like, I guess you wear goggles, right, Carolyn? Yeah, but I feel like the salt water always gets in my eyes and it hurts. Cool.

[22:07] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Not like. Well, one day I like a scuba dive with dolphins.

[22:14] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, yeah, that would be fun. I wonder where we could do that.

[22:19] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: You gotta do, like, a scuba diving test.

[22:23] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. Yeah. To make sure you could class, do it, right.

[22:26] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah, scuba diving class.

[22:29] KELLY BLAKE: You're a pretty good swimmer, so. Yeah, that would be cool. Would you ever do that, swim with dolphins?

[22:37] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Oh, I would love to.

[22:38] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. Well, someday we should do it.

[22:42] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[22:42] KELLY BLAKE: We'll put it on our list to do.

[22:45] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Mm hmm.

[22:47] KELLY BLAKE: Hmm.

[22:50] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hmm.

[22:54] KELLY BLAKE: What else? What else can you tell me about any goals you have for the next couple years at least? You want to keep working?

[23:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[23:06] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. Do you have any other type of work that you want to do other than cammies?

[23:21] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Property's? I. So I work at inkworks, but I don't have any other subs in mind right now.

[23:35] KELLY BLAKE: You're content with cammies?

[23:37] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[23:39] KELLY BLAKE: What about you?

[23:40] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I would like to have two jobs.

[23:42] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. To make that money.

[23:44] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yeah. I'm into making working at two subs, too.

[23:49] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm.

[23:52] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: But I don't know what another one's gonna be.

[23:57] KELLY BLAKE: We'll have to do some research.

[23:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[24:02] KELLY BLAKE: All right. Tell me what type of hobbies you guys have.

[24:05] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hmm. I like. Hmm. I like sports.

[24:14] KELLY BLAKE: You like watching sports, or you like playing them?

[24:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Watching them?

[24:19] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. What else?

[24:23] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, when school, I was in the band, active in the band.

[24:29] KELLY BLAKE: Oh. What instrument did you play?

[24:32] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Percussion.

[24:33] KELLY BLAKE: Oh. Did you play any instruments, Carolyn?

[24:36] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: No. Um, before coming here, me and Steven was on the soccer team.

[24:43] KELLY BLAKE: Oh.

[24:44] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: And then I was on the basketball and softball team.

[24:51] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, I didn't know that. Cool. I played tennis. Have you ever played tennis before?

[25:00] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: No.

[25:00] KELLY BLAKE: No.

[25:01] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I probably really bad at it.

[25:03] KELLY BLAKE: Well, you can try. I like playing. I'll teach you. There's a tennis court right down the street. We could play.

[25:08] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Mm hmm.

[25:10] KELLY BLAKE: If you're willing, we can play.

[25:11] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[25:14] KELLY BLAKE: What other sports do you play?

[25:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Let's see. Basketball.

[25:32] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: No, mom gave me a violin, and I used to play on a practice and playing a violin at the house, but the strain broke, so mom took that one and gave me the guitar.

[25:54] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, yeah, I played the clarinet in fifth grade, but I didn't play after that. I wasn't good at it. I have a harmonica that I like to play, and they taught us the. What's it called? The, like, the like recorder. Is that what it is? We learned that in fifth grade too, but didn't do good at that either. Yeah. What other hobbies do you like to do other than sports?

[26:39] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Let's see. I like gaming a lot.

[26:43] KELLY BLAKE: You like gaming a lot? Yeah. What do you, what do you play on?

[26:47] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I got two systems, the Xbox one and the PlayStation five.

[26:52] KELLY BLAKE: Have you always liked gaming?

[26:54] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yep.

[26:54] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah. What's your earliest memory about gaming?

[26:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Let's see. My earliest memory of gaming when I was at my mom's house, I used to game.

[27:24] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[27:28] KELLY BLAKE: Tell me about your earliest, or when did you get your cats? Do you remember when you got your cats?

[27:34] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: When I lived in apartment.

[27:35] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. And you had two cats, right?

[27:39] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah. Yeah, I had two cats.

[27:42] KELLY BLAKE: And now. And you brought them when you moved to first light or to L'arche. You brought them with you?

[27:50] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[27:51] KELLY BLAKE: That's cool. Did you ever have any pets?

[27:53] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Mm mm.

[27:54] KELLY BLAKE: No. You didn't want any? No. So how old do you think your cats are, Carolyn?

[28:02] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, um, see, um, I will say in human years, I. And eight years old.

[28:15] KELLY BLAKE: My gosh. In human years.

[28:17] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: In human years, yeah.

[28:19] KELLY BLAKE: Or cat years and human years. Different. They are. So what would they be in cat years?

[28:24] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Ten, eight years old.

[28:27] KELLY BLAKE: Oh, okay.

[28:29] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: But tiny dancer passed away cuz he's got, he had, what's it call that same? arthritis Oh, um, I think. What's that sickness called?

I always begged my mom for a dog, and she never got me a dog. So one day, that's one of my goals is on my list, is to get a dog, but I'm not sure what kind of dog I want.

[29:28] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I want to get a puppy, too, but the puppy that I want is going to be a male. Brown and black. I meant brown and black. One of those fox terriers.

[29:44] KELLY BLAKE: Sounds like a pretty dog. What about you? If you had a dog, what would it be?

[29:50] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: A husky.

[29:51] KELLY BLAKE: Husky. Those are pretty, too.

[29:53] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[29:53] KELLY BLAKE: I think I would get a golden retriever. I think those are nice dogs.

[30:00] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[30:00] KELLY BLAKE: Yeah, and those.

[30:04] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Those are nice dogs. You could train them. You could also stream them to be. To guard you against strangers and also strain them to, well, swim and, like, protect, guard. Protect you in the mountains.

[30:29] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm.

[30:30] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: If you go in the mountains and you, like, in danger, you could train him. Train him or her to protect you.

[30:42] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. Yeah. Probably go on hikes with them. I guess you always have to walk a dog, right?

[30:50] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[30:50] KELLY BLAKE: We have a pretty good neighborhood to walk dogged.

[30:53] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yep.

[30:57] KELLY BLAKE: Do you have any other questions for me?

[31:00] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hmm, hmm.

[31:11] KELLY BLAKE: Hmm. Let's see. All right, we've only got a few minutes left, so I'm gonna ask another one of these questions. Let's see. Let's see. Do you guys remember the first time you met me?

[31:42] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[31:43] KELLY BLAKE: When?

[31:44] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I think it was back when you first come came, Lars.

[31:51] KELLY BLAKE: I came in 2015 as a JV.

[31:54] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[31:55] KELLY BLAKE: And I was a little bit everywhere. I kind of like what I'm doing now.

[31:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[31:59] KELLY BLAKE: And then after that, when I decided to stay, they had me at your house.

[32:03] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[32:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yep.

[32:08] KELLY BLAKE: And I moved in. I hope you guys don't. I hope you like me as a roommate.

[32:13] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[32:16] KELLY BLAKE: All right. What is your favorite thing about your jobs?

[32:23] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: My favorite thing about our jobs is the friends we make.

[32:51] KELLY BLAKE: And, Jeanetta, what's your favorite part of your job, Carolyn?

[32:58] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Um, putting stickers on front and back of the buckets.

[33:11] KELLY BLAKE: How many of those a day do you do usually, do you think?

[33:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, I go, I used to go on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. And now they sends it to Fridays too. And now with the holidays coming up and they started getting slow, they, they have us work on two Tuesdays and Wednesdays and that's it.

[33:52] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Carolyn Mokrzycki puts the stickers on the buckets. I just make the buckets.

[33:57] KELLY BLAKE: Oh. So how many buckets do you say you make?

[34:01] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: I make usually six boxes. Depends on how many they need.

[34:09] KELLY BLAKE: Cool. Is it, how many stickers do you put on? On one bucket. Do you put one sticker, one sticker.

[34:19] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: On front and one sticker on the back.

[34:22] KELLY BLAKE: Cool.

[34:23] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: On those plastic buckets. Stephen makes some box buckets. You know, the kind that you see in the freezer that they scoop ice cream out of.

[35:16] KELLY BLAKE: You've always lived together, right?

[35:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[35:18] KELLY BLAKE: You haven't lived together. Okay, so tell me about a favorite. Do you guys have a favorite memory of each other growing up?

[35:33] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Living together is my favorite.

[35:39] KELLY BLAKE: Do you have a favorite memory of Steven, Carolyn, if you can't think of it, that's okay.

[36:02] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Well, when we was little kids, we opened presents on Christmas.

[36:12] KELLY BLAKE: Mm hmm. That's nice.

[36:13] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[36:14] KELLY BLAKE: I have a few favorite memories of you guys. Can I tell you?

[36:18] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[36:18] KELLY BLAKE: One of my favorite, funniest moments with you, Stephen, is one time at like seven in the morning, there was a big bug on the curtain in the living room. Do you remember? And you hit it with a spatula, and the spatula broke off. You hit it so hard. It was so funny. And I will never forget it. So that's one of my favorite memories with you. And with you, Carolyn, is when you tackled Caroline on the couch. Do you remember when she did that? Yeah, we were like, get her. And you tackled her on the couch. And it was one of my favorite memories. So those are mine for you guys.

[37:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[37:07] KELLY BLAKE: Lots of, lots of, many memories. But those are two that come out to me.

[37:13] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[37:33] KELLY BLAKE: You make me laugh, Steven.

[37:35] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[37:39] KELLY BLAKE: Okay. Any last questions?

[37:42] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hmm?

[37:48] KELLY BLAKE: Anything you want to ask me, um, any burning questions that you don't know about me, that you want to know about me?

[37:57] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Hmm. Let's see. Well.

[38:15] KELLY BLAKE: I can look at these.

[38:17] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: How do you like laying next door?

[38:23] KELLY BLAKE: Next door to you? Yeah, I like it. I think 109 is the best house to live at.

[38:30] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[38:32] KELLY BLAKE: I like living with y'all, and I like being able to walk downstairs to see Willie and Lucy and then everyone that works there, too. I mean, Marcus. And I'm still getting to know Marcus and Madison. It was nice being with Peggy when she was around and with Larry when he was around. I think we've got a nice house at 109 that we can spend a lot of time together.

[38:59] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Cool.

[38:59] KELLY BLAKE: So, I think that's. It's been nice to be able to be with y'all whenever I want.

[39:06] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[39:07] KELLY BLAKE: I feel like I don't work upstairs often as I would like with y'all, but being able to live there has been able to see you guys.

[39:16] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Yeah.

[39:16] KELLY BLAKE: So that's been nice. So, yeah.

[39:22] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Cool.

[39:23] KELLY BLAKE: Cool. You guys are cool. I can't tell if we're all right. So now I think we're done. So I think we just say thanks for joining. Thanks for doing this with me, y'all.

[39:39] CAROLYN [NO NAME GIVEN]: Thank you. Thank you.

[39:41] KELLY BLAKE: All right.
