Casey spoke with her good friend, Courtney, about living with invisible disabilities. Casey has myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), formerly known as chronic fatigue syndrome, which was triggered by a COVID infection in 2021. In addition to ME and Long COVID, Casey has tick-borne illnesses, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. These healthcare issues do not have many visible symptoms, often causing people and doctors to doubt her. While navigating these conditions is painful and deeply challenging, Casey finds purpose in activism, academia, and her community.
