David says his maternal grandmother was Elise Hunter. He says his mother was Katherine Hunter Branch. David says he is a great-grandson of Roswell King several times removed.
David says Roswell King was a banker sent to North Georgia on horseback to find gold. He says this search led Roswell to Vickery Creek, where he founded Roswell Manufacturing Company as well as the present-day city of Roswell, Georgia.
David says that William T. Sherman burned the Roswell cotton mill, which effectively dispersed the family. He says his mother grew up in the Ansley Park neighborhood of Atlanta. He says the author Margaret Mitchell lived in the same neighborhood.
David talks about his relatives Nathaniel Palmer Pratt and William Pratt Heath Sr.
David says his paternal grandfather Harllee Branch Sr. grew up at Thornwell Orphanage in Clinton, South Carolina. He says his grandfather did not finish high school and became a printer's devil at the Charlotte Observer in North Carolina.
David says Harllee Branch Sr moved to Atlanta, where he rose through the ranks of the Atlanta Journal newspaper. He says his grandfather hired Margaret Mitchell as a reporter in the 1920s.
