UVA students Keisha Thomas (19) from Fredericksburg, VA and Eujine Kim (20) from Lynchburg, VA recorded a One Small Step conversation as part of their course, UNST 1410. They began by connecting through their shared experience as the oldest daughter. They then transitioned to discussing more about their shared experiences with school shootings. Another thing they discussed was their shared hesitancy to be confrontational with people who have different views and their hesitancy to be politically active. They also left with a conviction to lean into those difficult conversations in the future.
