Description

On Thanksgiving there are many things to be greatful for; friends, family, and turkey. On Thanksgiving Day of 2017 (November 26), in New Caanon Connecticut, Arlene Parker spoke about two of the three. She taught her granddaughter, Amanda Sedaka, about the importance of family and life through talking about her childhood and what it took to become a registered nurse. She spoke about the happy moments, like when she spoke to her father for the first time in three years (3 minutes 57 seconds), the sad moments, like her parents’ divorce, and even some funny times too (7 minutes 47 seconds). Through this interview, Amanda learns about how important family is through the eyes of someone growing up in New York during the early 50’s, and what is truly important in life.
