Subject Log / Time Code

Genesis Ueligitone-Parker (GUP) introduces herself. David Boze (DB) introduces himself.
DB asks GUP about her bio's statement in which she was accused of ascribing to 'woke' theology and they discuss the term and how it shows up in Christian spaces.
GUP and DB both share how their grandmothers' actions over their words demonstrated love and kindness to them and their communities.
GUP shares how she feels misunderstood when she tells people she's a pastor. DB shares how he and people he knows are misunderstood as conservatives. GUP says "we have more in common than differences" and DB replies, "it's the human condition."
DB shares he was expecting someone more extreme on the political spectrum and there would be barriers to agreement, but he didn't find that.
GUP shares her hopes that conversations like this can inspire more people to talk to people they disagree with.
