D talks about being scouted for Arthur Godfrey's radio show and moving to Miami as a 17 year old to play on that radio show, and with other orchestras.
D tells the story of being fired after one night by Xavier Cugat for flirting with his wife.
D talks about his being born in Montreal while his mother had been working up there and subsequently being deported back to Canada in his late teens due to immigration problems.
D talks about joining the Air Force so that he could gain his U.S. citizenship properly.
D talks about being stationed on Johnson Island in the Pacific as a military air traffic controller and starting a jazz radio station there.
G asks D what drumming has taught him about life.
G tells D that she is glad that she will always have his music, and therefore a part of him, even after he dies.
