Greg Barnes (58) talks with his mother Claudette Barnes (80) about her life growing up in Oklahoma, being a teenage newlywed living on a logging camp, moving to Lewiston Idaho, being diagnosed with cancer, losing her husband, and the very close family relationships that her family has always had.

CB talks about living with her maternal grandmother in Oklahoma and growing up on an 160-acre farm and says she was a farm girl.

GB shares an early memory of living in Pierce, ID of going out with his dog in the winter and getting lost.
GB says they permanently moved to Lewiston around 1971 and CB talks about what that move was like for her and says the reason for the move was for a job for her husband.
CB talks about being diagnosed with cancer but that the doctors kept saying it wasn’t cancer, but that she knew something was wrong, and that she is now a cancer survivor.
GB talks about his fathers aneurism which eventually led to his passing in 1998 and CB talks about how hard it was to lose him.
GB says that if there had to be one way he would describe CB it is that she is a caring person.
CB says she is so thankful for her children putting themselves through college and getting an education, and GB says that it is because of CB’s care and support that they were able to accomplish these things.
CB talks about what her experience of Covid-19 has been like and says that overall she feels the nation is sad and that it is upsetting how the nation is.
CB talks about what she loves about her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
