(Habungul Fahaf) Passing on Knowledge in Ulithi, Yap

Description

This is an activity that take place in the evening where the family gathered under their cooking house to eat and the elders will take turn sharing information on topics like family relations on island and to other islands. Share the name of our clan and it's connections to its counter parts on other islands. Share knowledge on medicine: what plant leaves, vines, tree barks, and roots that goes together and to treat what illaments. Share how girls and boys carry themselves in the community and what are the social norms of going about doing things since all will reflect what is being taught at home. Knowing your estate and knowing your counter parts in the lagoon so that transactions of gifts exchanges and mutual aid or help each other in time of need could actually take place.
