In this interview, I talked with my grandmother, Peggy Hotz, about her childhood growing up in Virginia and what it was like raising three children. We talked about funny memories from her lifetime and about my dad when he was younger. We also spent time talking about the years when her and my grandfather lived in Ethiopia and all of their travels throughout Europe. We moved on to her professional career as a nurse, and she shared with me some lessons she has learned over the years and wanted to pass along to me. Taking into account more recent times, we talked about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her and our family, and she also shared with me how she would like to be remembered some day. Wrapping up the interview, we reflected on some of our favorite memories that we have had together as a family.
